The Vessels of Peace mission states:  “Our practice is peace embodiment. Our inspiration is the Sacred Feminine. Our purpose is service to Divinity, Humanity, Earth.” You are invited to gather with us to serve as doulas for our next phase of birthing an expanded consciousness of peace into our world.  
 
Doula is defined in one dictionary as “A woman who assists during childbirth labor and provides support to the mother, her child and the family after childbirth.” Unlike midwives, who deliver babies and are licensed to perform medical tasks, labor doulas provide emotional and physical support to the laboring parents. The word “doula” is derived from the Greek word “Hierodule” whose meaning was related to a person in an ancient temple who was in service to a specific deity.

Throughout the four years that Vessels of Peace has existed, the focus has been on connecting with the Sacred Feminine to embody peace. For this fifth year, our focus is to be of service from that place of embodiment. It is time for us to be “Doulas for Peace.”
 
We are being asked to support the Sacred Feminine as She labors and gives birth to a global peace consciousness in our world. The Vessels of Peace practices already in place, as well as others we each may do individually, will help to support us in this process. The ongoing Sunday evening teleconference meditations provide us with a sustained collective practice to deepen our capacity to hold the space, to be present to the world at this critical time.

This series of calls began on International Women’s Day and will complete on December 8th, the fifth anniversary of the first Vessels of Peace gathering. This time frame of 40 weeks, the duration of human pregnancy, is deliberate. It is meant to be a period of gestating and birthing for:

-  Each VoP woman, as she comes into her fullest expression as peace doula for the world;
 
-  Humanity, whom the Feminine calls to a new level of consciousness and service;
 
-  The Earth, who releases from Her hidden places, the energy of the Feminine, creating Oneness;
 
-  Vessels of Peace, as it evolves in its service.
